About Martyna Paszek
I’m Martyna Paszek, and I spend my slower hours in Vienna with clay on my hands.
I like making things, but it’s the clay that keeps me coming back. It stays with you for a long time. It has to rest, then dry, then go into the kiln, then come out and get glazed, then go back in. You can’t hurry any of it. I’ve tried.
Somewhere in all that waiting I slow down too. Wet earth on my hands. A pot sitting on the shelf, not ready yet. The quiet before the kiln is opened and I find out what happened.
What comes out is made by hand, and it looks it. I leave that in.
